This cup is beautiful. The rainbow strata design on its own is lovely, but the wood fire gives it a unique quality that cannot be captured in photos. The colors got a little more muted, with a bit of a dusty, dessert rose overtone. But they also got an almost iridescent sheen to them from the wood firing and a lovely speckled variation. The inside is a beautiful cobalt blue that picks up light and dark flecks from the wood fire. Absolutely stunning.

I bought 2 of these 4-5 years ago. I gave one to my Mom as a birthday gift and I had the other. It was my favorite cup til I broke it into 3 large pieces. I hope they come back in stock so I can get another! The other strata colors are gorgeous but I still want to match my mom’s. I plan to repair the cup and reuse it as a planter for succulents! If water escapes, no biggie for a catch tray!
